A PC Health Check is probably one of our best sellers to meet our customer needs for computer performance issues.


PCL have addressed this by offering a PC/Laptop health check service @ a cost of 1 hour workshop time (£40 + VAT)

The Health Check Service covers removal of:-

  • Virus
  • Spyware
  • Fraudware Spam
  • Temporary Internet Files
  • Redundant Windows Files

Installation of a PCL suite of programs to assist the user in maintaining the system in the future with a weekly routine.

If a system reload is necessary due to a particularly destructive virus in most cases we can backup your data to our server prior to any work taking place and restore when work is completed. We only charge an additional 1 (one) hour workshop time for this service.

Our services include general upgrades of memory/storage or system configutions and are charged @ our hourly rate.

A new service for 2011, PCL now offer a pickup & delivery service for only an additional £10

This includes:- Collecting your faulty PC or Laptop

Returning the PC to our workshop to carry out the repair at our hourly rate of £40 + VAT

Once the repair has been completed we will return the equipment, reconnect & test


Remote Support - 01582 722012

We now offer a remote support service. With this service we are able to remotely log on your PC with your permission and perform minor fixes to your Windows environment.

This service is charged at only £10 + VAT for upto 15 minutes of support time or part thereof. (£10 for every 15 minute session)

The remote support program that we use is secure and can be requested by calling our offices on: 0845 0524628 or clicking the icon below to book and pay online.

You will then be contacted to confirm your session time. Our engineer will call prior to the scheduled session and you will be instructed how to obtain a user id and password by clicking on our "Support Session" icon.

Should our engineer be unable to resolve you PC problem you then have the option to book the faulty equipment into our workshop or request a site visit by an engineer. Workshop time is charged at £40 + VAT per hour and on-site time is charged at £50 + VAT per hour.

This remote service is only available from Mon to Fri 9.00am - 5.00pm

Computer Commissioning

PCL supply a commissioning service for PC/Laptop equipment purchased elsewhere.

As part of this service we remove all evaluation software preloaded by manufacturers that will require a subscription fee after evaluation period (i.e Antivirus Software and Integrated Software suites).

We install an application suite whose main components are for Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentations, Graphics and Databases. This software is available for a number of different operating systems and supports the ISO/IEC standards Open Document Format (ODF) for data interchange as its default file format, as well as Microsoft Office formats amongst others. The suite can support over 110 languages making it very handy for students.
